Why They Are Important

In an early edition of Wee Wisdom an early Unity publication a little boy wrote "Are you afraid of the dark? Isn't God just as much in the dark as in the light? You mustn't be afraid. I'm not afraid 'cause I know God's everywhere and God's good." Our children are clear expressions of God's light and love.

Myrtle Fillmore, Unity's co-founder, defined the Unity approach to our children when she wrote – "Who meddles with the rosebud? What fingers are deft enough to pry open that marvel of folded beauty? We are wise enough to leave it alone to follow the glad law of its own unfolding. But our children! Have we always remembered that they, too, must quicken and unfold through the innate law of their own genius?" Unity of Loudoun County seeks always to allow our children to unfold in God's good timing.

Our Youth Education Celbration time is 10:30 a.m. It runs concurent with the Sunday Worshipful Celebration.

Welcome to our Youth and Family Ministry page!

At Unity of Loudoun County our Youth and Family Ministry Program continues to grow. Our role is to empower each child to live from a place of love and joy. Our curriculum covers many topics including each child’s divine nature, the oneness of all life, prayer, meditation, the power of our thoughts, the importance of choices, and living a life centered on the awareness of each child’s spiritual potential.

Our philosophy affirms that the “real” curriculum is not found within any teacher but rather lives within the youth themselves. Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, was the inspiration for this foundational belief as she envisioned each child living the Truth principles through his or her own soul’s unfoldment. As spiritual educators we are here to guide the youth on their unique journey of spiritual unfoldment and to help them recognize their own divinity. We do this through fun activities, interactive discussions, creative craft projects and through our loving relationships with each child.

In the words of Myrtle Fillmore, “We are not here to entertain the children, but to call them out!” At Unity of Loudoun County we call each child out and up to the highest awareness of their spiritual potential, beauty and power.

As our program continues to expand, we are developing programs to support our families.
