Unity teaches there is only one power and source, God. We human beings have at best an partial understanding of God and the Divine Love we receive from our Creator. At Unity of Loudoun County, we teach that the many different religions are paths to the same end, a union with our beloved Creator. While we do not teach each path , we honor each one as serving God's purpose.
Do you see yourself as spiritual, but not religious? Have you rejected traditional organized religion as the sole—or even the most valuable—means of furthering your spiritual growth? You may have had negative experiences with churches or church leaders. If so, we may be the spiritual community you have been seeking.
Unity is more a way of life than an organized religion or system of worship. Even though we have an international association and independent individual communities, Unity does not have a dogmatic statement of faith with which members must agree. Unity is positive, practical Christianity. It teaches the practical application in everyday life of the principles of Truth taught and exemplified by Jesus Christ, as interpreted in the light of modern-day experience by Unity School of Christianity and the Association of Unity Churches. Unity is a way of life that leads to health, prosperity, happiness, and peace of mind.
We believe in original blessing, that all people are created with sacred worth. Therefore, we recognize the importance of serving all people in spiritually and emotionally caring ways. We strive for our ministries, publications, and programs to reach out to all who seek spiritual growth. The objective of joining a Unity community is to find ways to enrich your spiritual development and to find ways to serve the world that God is constantly re-creating. We support each other in living effective, spirit centered lives.

Leading author and theologian, Matthew Fox wrote an open letter to Unity ministers in 2003. In that letter he says about Unity, "I believe that Unity has a special role to play in current history. It emphasizes the mystical and unitive experiences of healthy religion and spirituality; it is not loaded down with the baggage of much institutional religions; it is not encumbered by institutional sexism or homophobia; and it is deeply ecumenical."
